Tapered roller bearings sound processing methods

Tapered roller bearings will produce a low whining or buzzing sound if they are in a good state of continuous rotation. If a sharp hiss, squeak and other irregular sounds are made, it often indicates that the bearing is in a bad continuous running condition, the sharp squeak noise may be caused by improper lubrication, and inappropriate bearing clearance can also cause metal sound.

The dent in the track of the bearing outer ring will cause vibration and cause a smooth and crisp sound.

If there is intermittent noise, it means that the rolling piece may be damaged. This sound occurs when the damaged surface is rolled out, and the hissing sound is often caused by pollutants in the bearing. Serious bearing damage can cause irregular and loud noise.

If the percussion scars caused by installation will also produce noise, this noise will vary with the speed of the bearing.

Loud metal noise.

Reason 1: abnormal load, countermeasure: correct fit, study bearing clearance, adjust and load, modify shell shoulder position.

Reason 2: poor installation, countermeasures: shaft, shell processing accuracy, improve installation accuracy, installation method.

Reason 3: insufficient or unsuitable lubricant, countermeasure: supplement lubricant, choose appropriate lubricant.

Reason 4: the rotating parts have contact, countermeasure: modify the contact part of the curved seal.

Regular noise.

Reason 1: indentation, corrosion or scars on the rolling surface caused by foreign bodies, countermeasures: replace bearings, clean relevant parts, improve sealing devices, and use clean lubricants.

Reason 2: (after steel Carburizing) surface deformation, countermeasure: replace the bearing, pay attention to its use.

Reason 3: raceway surface peeling, countermeasure: replace bearing.

Irregular noise.

Reason 1: clearance is too large, countermeasure: study fit and bearing clearance, modify pre-load.

Reason 2: foreign body invasion, countermeasures: study to replace bearings, clean related parts, improve sealing devices, use clean lubricants.

Reason 3: spherical injury, peeling, countermeasure: replace the bearing.

At present, there are two ways to detect the abnormal sound of bearings. One is noise detection based on acoustics, the other is based on vibration.

Noise detection method.

In the muffling environment where the basic noise is less than 20db, the bearing sound pressure signal is extracted by a high-quality microphone with a certain distance and direction, and the abnormal sound components are extracted by certain analysis methods. It is a direct measurement method of abnormal sound.

Vibration detection method.

It isan indirect detection method of abnormal sound, which can be divided into qualitative detection method and quantitative parameter detection method. Among them, the qualitative detection method is divided into monitoring abnormal sound method and observing vibration wave shape method. The quantitative parameter detection method refers to using the measured parameters related to the abnormal sound in the measured bearing vibration signal, such as the peak value of vibration and wave crest factor, to evaluate the abnormal sound of the bearing.
